RELEASE DATE: March 6, 2015
Balloon Sinuplasty center Sinus Institute of Atlanta was interviewed by WHSG-TV (Trinity Broadcasting) on January 23, 2015. Dr. Sinha made an appearance on the Joy in Our Town show, a public affairs news program on WHSG-TV, where he provided valuable insight on chronic sinusitis symptoms and treatment, specifically a new steroid-releasing implant.
Dr. Sinha shared with listeners how chronic sinusitis is a condition in which the sinuses become inflamed and result in symptoms like frequent sinus headaches and migraines that aren’t treatable with medication. Traditional sinus surgery opens the sinus cavities by removing excess tissue, but in most cases symptoms return and additional revision surgery is often required. The Sinus Institute of Atlanta specializes in Balloon Sinuplasty, a non-surgical procedure used to gently and safely expand the nasal cavity, providing effective symptom relief. An additional topic of conversation during Dr. Sinha’s interview was a new steroid-releasing implant. This device is put into place after sinus surgery or Balloon Sinuplasty and functions to hold the sinuses open, releasing medication to further assist in symptom relief and healing.
“This new implant allows our patients to experience more relief and better results from their sinus procedures than ever before,” says Dr. Pradeep Sinha of the Sinus Institute of Atlanta. “No one wants to undergo a procedure only to have their symptoms come back. This new treatment option drastically improves their recovery and long-term outcomes; it’s a fantastic product.”
